New Nokia 6600 fold, Nokia 6600 slide and Nokia 3600 slide

Cantik untuk digunakan, itulah tagline yang ingin ditonjolkan Nokia terhadap tiga ponsel barunya. Keseimbangan antara penampilan canggih dan memukau dengan fungsionalitas dijanjikan dari ketiga produk ini.

Ketiga perangkat tersebut adalah Nokia 6600 fold, Nokia 6600 slide dan Nokia 3600 slide. Ketiganya diklaim bakal menghadirkan disain yang mulus, minimalis dengan serangkaian fitur menarik dan mudah digunakan.

"Ada permintaan konsumen yang kuat terhadap perangkat bergerak yang menggabungkan penampilan yang anggun dengan kemampuan modern," kata Mikkel Drucker, Director Connect Devices.

Masing-masing dari ketiga perangkat yang diperkenalkan tersebut, lanjut Drucker, menawarkan porsi yang sedikit berbeda dalam bahasa disain. Nokia percaya ketiganya cantik digunakan dan cantik untuk dimiliki, perangkat-perangkat ini diharapkan akan mulai dikirimkan pada kuartal tiga 2008.

Among Nokia's three new cell phones, the 6600 fold promises a blend of elegant looks and modern features, and it does actually offer a few nifty features.

Nokia today unveiled a trio of mobile devices that balance looks with the latest in mobile functionality for the mid-range market. All three devices, the Nokia 660 fold, the Nokia 6600 slide and the Nokia 3600 slide are expected to start shipping during the third quarter of 2008, selling in the price range of 175 to 275 EUR.

With the touch of a button, the Nokia 6600 (see specifications) opens to reveal a 2.13" OLED screen displaying up to 16 million colors. The high-gloss surface of the Nokia 6600 fold comes to life when tapped twice to "wake up" the hidden outer display that provides information such as time, incoming messages and missed calls. A double tap on the Nokia 6600 fold also snooze alerts and silences or rejects incoming phone calls.

Measuring 87.7 by 44 by 15.9 mm and weighing 110 grams, the 6600 fold operates on Quad-band GSM networks with a talk time of up to 4 hours. Other connectivity includes EDGE and Bluetooth 2.0, but the 6600 fold operates on European HSDPA networks only. Through its microSD slot (4GB) and an included 512MB card, music and video are played back in standard formats such as MP3, AAC and WMA (audio) as well as H.263, 3GPP, H.264 and MPEG4.

A 2-megapixel camera acts as a video recorder, shooting VGA up to 15 fps and QVGA up to 30 fps. Data transfers should go like a breeze with an included USB 2.0 full speed cable. When it comes to browsing, the 6600 fold offers both the Nokia Mini Map and Opera Mini browsers.

The Nokia 6600 fold has an estimated retail price of 275 EUR, and should be available sometime in Q3 2008.

The new Nokia 6600 slide (see specifications), one of Nokia's smallest sliders to date, comes with steel covers and an aluminum center key. Tapping the Nokia 6600 slide twice indicates time, snooze alerts and silences or rejects incoming phone calls. Equipped with a 2.2-inch QVGA display with 16 million colors, the 6600 slide offers Nokia Maps which can be enhanced by a GPS module (optional accessory). A 3.2-megapixel camera is also incorporated, while a microSD slot (4GB) and an included 512MB card offers roomy storage capacity for images and videos (recorded in VGA and QVGA like the 6600 fold).

Operating on Quad-band GSM networks and European HSDPA networks, the 6600 slide offers a talk time of up to 3 hours. The 6600 slide also support Bluetooth 2.0 and comes with the Opera Mini 4 browser out-of-box. Weighing 110 grams and measuring 90 by 45 by 14 mm, the Nokia 6600 slide will be selling for 250 EUR in Q3 2008.

Apart from its focus on high-gloss surfaces and graded colors, the Nokia 3600 slide (see specifications) delivers pretty much the same features as the 6600 slide. The main exception is the lack of UMTS/HSDPA support altogether. As a result, the Nokia 3600 slide is claimed to have a talk time of 5.5 hours. Measuring 98 by 47 by 14.5 mm and weighing 97 grams, the Nokia 3600 slide will be selling for 175 EUR in Q3 2008.
